KONICHIWA BITCHES

Robin Miriam Carlsson aka Robyn (born June 12, 1979) is a Swedish singer and songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden.

She scored massive successes in the summer of 2007 with her hit single “With Every Heartbeat” which was most notably #1 in the UK, but also had chart success in her native Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland and Germany.

She is best known in the USA for her 1997 song “Do You Know (What It Takes)”. Her debut single “You’ve Got That Something” was released in Sweden in 1995. Later the same year, her Swedish breakthrough came with the single “Do You Really Want Me (Show Respect)”. It was slightly less successful in the USA in its 1997 release. These singles became part of the album Robyn Is Here.

Robyn had her North American breakthrough in 1997 when the singles “Show Me Love” and “Do You Know (What It Takes)” were released. These singles ended up on the Billboard top 10, and both made #2 in Canada. She followed those two singles with the slightly less successful “Do You Really Want Me (Show Respect)”, which was the lead-off single for the 1995 Swedish release. It was ineligible for the Billboard Hot 100 at the time since it was not released as a retail single in the U.S., but did reach #32 on the Hot 100’s Airplay chart, and #6 in Canada. The album offered the standard version and a remix causing the album to be re-released with this remix on it.

Her following album My Truth was released in May 17, 1999, but not in the US (though it was promised to be) because her American record company RCA didn’t think the album contained any potential hits. The album won rave reviews and is referred to by fans as her best album to date, even garnering her a Grammy (as did Robyn is Here both in the US and Sweden).

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

This is a short video made by the Dutch student Timacious (Tim Smit): this 9 minute movie about The Box, a mysterious black cube with incredible power. Set in the near futurer, the whole thing is themed with the looks and sounds of the first-person PC shooter Half-Life 2 and it’s amazingly integrated in this short film. When he posted this video on youtube he was phoned by Pixar, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios because of those briliant special effects.

Not only is this movie a definite must-see, it also comes with a dose of surrounding mystery through the website connected to it: What’sInTheBox.nl

Whatever this video is it’s incredible, and deserves attention. And I keep on asking myself: What's in the Box?

GLEETV

Here an video of my favorite TV called GLEE, so emotional.

Glee is a new FOX musical comedy television series which focuses on a high school glee club. The show "Glee" stars Matthew Morrison as high school teacher Will Schuester, who tries to turn around the school's glee club, which is populated by misfits and outcasts. Faced with skepticism from all corners, including his own wife, he nonetheless tries to mold the club into the type of top-notch show choir that can make it to a national competition. The show will feature musical numbers each week, ranging from classics to current pop hits. The cast also includes Jayma Mays as a sympathetic fellow teacher, Jane Lynch as the school's autocratic cheerleading coach and Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Dianna Agron as students. Ryan Murphy ("Nip/Tuck") co-created "Glee" with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan and also directed the pilot. He, Falchuk and Dante Di Loreto will executive produce, while Brennan will be a co-executive producer.Enjoy!!

COMPLETE!!

This kinda took me by surprise, but just before Christmas, Frankmusik has released an acoustic version of his debut album called, cleverly - "Completely Me"

The acoustic album is now available on iTunes and 7Digital. With a remix album, pop album and now an acoustic album for "Complete Me" - one has to wonder if Frankmusik is setting a new trend for electronica acts...perhaps Little Boots and La Roux should take note - another good way to squeeze some cash out of the loyal fans...and hell, I am buying it...

Here is my favorite song of Frankmuik's albums called: Gotta Boyfriend

FUNNY GIRL

I found this really nice song while I was looking on Myspace for cool new bands.
The song is called Fun Girl and its made by the group Jessica 6.

BIOGRAPHY
After their New York City debut earlier this year, the buzz on DFA affiliates Jessica 6 began to brew. The group, which features bassist Andrew Raposo, keyboardist Morgan Wiley and singer/songwriter Nomi Ruiz, who all met in 2008 while touring with Hercules & Love Affair, have been hard at work in the studio cultivating a sound that is as dark as it is sexy, soulful and ready for the dance floor.

In 2004 Morgan and Andrew began touring the world with DFA-produced hip hop band Automato while Nomi released her debut album ‘Lost In Lust’ and hit the road with Deborah Harry, Antony & The Johnsons and CocoRosie. When they shared the stage in 2008, their synergy inspired Jessica 6.

Their spooky and mesmerizing first single ‘Fun Girl’ has been buzzing around the internet way ahead of release. It’s soulful and languid low-velocity disco style prompted comments such as “a lush, rich sound that is Vanity 6 meets Inner City” (Urb), and “elegantly loping discoid grooves” (FACT).

‘Fun Girl’ is now available as a limited 7-inch with fold-over sleeve and includes a B-Side of the emotional ballad ‘Not Anymore’.

Jessica 6 is now preparing for the August 18th digital release of the ‘Fun Girl’ EP which will include remixes by NYC based producer Olivier Spencer who is known for his work with Still Going & House Of House as well as a remix by Germany’s Keinemusik and the Jessica 6 ‘Back Seat’ remix.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE $

Is it all an act, ore is this really a new dirtier, trashier form of Madonna/Lady Gaga in the body of the 22 year old Ke$ha? Her style reminds us a bit of Madonna back in 1982, but it’s not all about looks and image. No Ke$ha has been working for six year on her debute album. Wring all the songs herself and got help from producer Max Martin, The man behind the begin success of Britney Spears. But unlike Spears Ke$ha is not a pure, innocent and a virgin. She is a skunk and everyone has to know it. At the moment she is outselling Lady Gaga with the American ITune’s. Mark my words… we will hear a lot more of KE$HA. But who is this girl? Here a small update….

Kesha Rose Sebert born in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles on the 1st of March, 1987. Brought up by her mother, Pebe Sebert, a singer and songwriter, looked after then infant Kesha onstage while performing. Pebe was struggling to get by and support Kesha and her older brother at the time, in 1991 Pebe moved the family to Nashville, Tennessee

after securing a publishing deal, and Kesha spent the rest of her early years attending a music school in the neighboring countryside. Pebe often brought Kesha along to recording studios and encouraged her to sing, Kesha was exposed to the music of many country music artists while learning to write songs. The Sebert family was featured in an episode of The Simple Life, as the host family, which led to an incident later where Sebert vomited in Paris Hilton’s closet. At the age of seventeen she dropped out of Brentwood High School in Nashville to return to Los Angeles and pursue a music career. after being convinced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin to return to Los Angeles and pursue a music career. Dr. Luke had come across her demos and was so impressed that he contacted her with Martin and began flying her to New York and Los Angeles to record music.

While in Los Angeles, Kesha survived on low income and few gigs at first, moonlighting as a waitress to make ends meet while furthering her music career in studio and seeing talent scouts. She lived with her alleged father when she first moved there, after being introduced by her mother, and subsequently moved in with a boy she was interested in. She later lived in a shared house in Laurel Canyon where the Eagles recorded Hotel California and at one point had lived out of her gold 1978 Trans Am. Kesha decided that she wanted Prince to produce her music, so she found and snuck into his Beverly Hills home. Once she was discovered, she was promptly thrown out, but not before she dropped off her demo, which was wrapped in a purple bow, with Prince himself. Sebert survived on low income and few gigs while pursuing her career at first, moonlighting as a waitress to make ends meet while furthering her music career in studios with different producers. It was then that she met Dr. Luke who had come across her demos, and was so impressed that he contacted her with Max Martin and began a working relationship with her immediately.

Between 2006 and 2009, Kesha's music appeared in a variety of media. The song "Former Overexposed Blonde" appeared in Degrassi: The Next Generation, while "Backstabber"and "Chain Reaction" were used on The Hills. Her songs were used for background cues on Teen Cribs, and My Super Sweet 16. However, she turned down a lucrative offer for one of her songs to appear in a fast food commercial because she did not think it was appropriate. During this time, she also co-wrote The Veronicas' single, "This Love" with Toby Gad, sang background vocals for Britney Spears' song "Lace and Leather" and appeared in the video for Katy Perry's single, "I Kissed a Girl". Her appearance in the video arose due to her being friends with Perry; they met frequently as aspiring pop singers in Los Angeles and shared many musical collaborators.

She gained exposure in the mainstream media after being featured on Flo Rida’s single, “Right Round”. The collaboration came about when Flo Rida decided that the song needed a female voice, Sebert was then roped in for the part after being suggested by Dr. Luke, who was producing the song. Flo Rida liked the end result so much that he invited her to guest on another song, “Touch Me”, for his album. She turned down an offer to appear in the video for “Right Round”, because she wanted to strike out on her own. Soon after, it was announced that she had signed with RCA Records through Dr. Luke and was working on her debut album, which has now been completed and was released on January 5, 2010 in the US. It immediately stole the top spot on Itunes Albums, gaining both fans and critics alike. Her first single, “TiK ToK”, was officially serviced to US radio on October 5, 2009. It features an uncredited cameo appearance by Diddy who is the inspiration for the song. In an interview with MTV Sweden for MTV Push, Sebert revealed that her debut album would be called Animal.

On March 27, 2009, she appeared onstage alongside 3OH!3 at one of their concerts at Avalon Hollywood to perform their duet, “My First Kiss”. She also performed at that year’s Lollapalooza as part of the BMI Stage. Sebert’s musical credits in 2009 include work for Teen Cribs, she had previously done background cues for My Super Sweet 16 as well, co-writing the title song for Miley Cyrus’ The Time of Our Lives EP and featured appearances on Pitbull and Taio Cruz’s albums. She also revealed in an interview with DigitalSpy that she had written a song for Rihanna. Sebert has also been a supporting act of Calvin Harris on tour in the UK and has performed with Mickey Avalon on multiple tour dates.

ROYAL BLOOD

Anastasia

Poppaea

Ludwig Beethoven

Lady Di

Marie Antoinette

Julius Caesar

Sissi

Jackie Kennedy

'Royal Blood' is a sinfully delicious & macabre photography series by Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf. which includes the Diana look-a-like picture, attempts to stir debate about public fascination with fame and violence by using blond models to portray celebrities who met a violent end.

The tiara-wearing look-alike stares out at a camera in a pose not unlike those in actual portraits taken of Diana.

But Olaf's image bears a bloody wound on her arm in which a Mercedes logo has been embedded. The Scottish Daily Record branded the photograph "a tasteless reminder" of the Paris car accident in which she died.

Other photos in the series include a bullet-riddled Russian Empress Alexandra, a headless Marie Antoinette, and a pair of Jacqueline Kennedy images set before and after her husband's assassination.

"Look at all the violence there is in the world. Think about the movies being made today. We worship violence. This is something we should discuss," Olaf said.

The photographs are jarring not just due to their violence, but also because Olaf's subjects are posed like fashion models, seemingly unaware of what has befallen them.

DISNEY + DALI = DESTINO

It seems like an odd match: Salvador Dali and Walt Disney, collaborating on a surreal, short animated film. The Destino project was almost finished when in 1945 Disney's studio ran into financial trouble and put the unfinished film on the shelf.

But, Walt Disney always regretted the decision. And Disney's nephew Roy Disney, who now heads the company's animation division, decided to revive the project.

So now, the movie Destino premiered on June 2, 2003 at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in Annecy, France. The six-minute short follows the love story of Chronos and the ill-fated love he has for a mortal female. The story continues as the female dances through surreal scenery inspired by Dalí's paintings. There is no dialogue, but the sound track features a song by the Mexican composer Armando Dominguez.

GLAMBERT

Singer Adam Lambert was born on January 29, 1982, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the the eldest son of Leila, an interior designer, and Eber Lambert, who works for program management at Novatel Wireless. He and his family moved to San Diego, California, when Adam was a baby.

Adam dreamed of being an entertainer from the age of 10; around that time he was cast in his first role as Linus in the Lyceum Theater's production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown in San Diego. Around age twelve, he was cast in a production of Fiddler On the Roof and continued performing throughout his teenage years including Hello, Dolly!, Chess, Camelot, The Music Man, Grease and played Captain Hook in Peter Pan.

At age 19, The aspiring singer and performer moved to Los Angeles, California, where he cobbled together a living from odd jobs while trying to make it in the theater. He also tried his hand at music, performing in a rockband and doing studio session work.

By 2004, Adam was making a name for himself through small parts around the Los Angeles area. He played a small role in The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre alongside film actor Val Kilmer. Adam was one of the only actors in the play that garnered a positive review. While acting, Adam briefly moonlighted as the front man for rockband The Citizen Vein with Steve Sidelnyk, Tommy Victor and Monte Pittman. He was then cast as the understudy for the part of Fiyero in the Broadway production company tour and Los Angeles casts of the musical Wicked. Since 2004, he has regularly performed at the Upright Cabaret and the Zodiac Show, which was co-created by Carmit Bachar of the Pussycat Dolls.

American Idol
In 2009, Adam Lambert reached the stars after he became a finalist on the eighth season of the reality television competition, American Idol. His performance of the 2001 Gary Jules' arrangement of the song "Mad World" earned a standing ovation from the show's harshest critic, Simon Cowell. His vocal range, along with his jet-black hair and heavy mascara, earned him comparisons to glam rockers like Freddie Mercury and Gene Simmons.

Adam, along with contestants Danny Gokey and Kris Allen, were the only finalists in the eighth season not to have been ranked in the bottom three positions. Lambert was considered a front-runner in the competition, but was later beaten out by dark horse candidate Kris Allen.
Critics theorized that Adam lost because of his openly gay lifestyle. Lambert denies this rumor, however, saying Allen won because of his talent. Despite the loss, fans say Lambert will enjoy a successful singing career.

Afther Idols
On November 23th, 2009 Adam releases his his album, For Your Entertainment. He himself calls the album a "rock-pop-electronic-dance thing. For the album he with many great producers such as Greg Wells, Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Sam Sparro, RedOne, Dr. Luke, and Lady Gaga, On October 28, 2009, Lambert announced via Twitter that his lead single from his debut album would be "For Your Entertainment", a song that was produced by Dr. Luke.

Also Adam was recruited to record the soundtrack "Time for Miracles" for the action movie 2012 that was released on October 20, 2009 as a side project single. The song was lauded ahead of its release by Queen's guitarist, Brian May, who described himself as being "completely blown away" upon hearing the track. The track "Time for Miracles" also appears on For Your Entertainment.

Controversy
In November 2009, Adam Lambert performed "For Your Entertainment" at the American Music Awards. The performance showed Adam kissing a male keyboardist, grinding a dancer's head against his pelvis, and grabbing the crotch of another. Adam Lambert told Rolling Stone magazine, "Female performers have been doing this for years—pushing the envelope about sexuality—and the minute a man does it, everybody freaks out. We're in 2009—it's time to take risks, be a little more brave, time to open people's eyes and if it offends them, then maybe I'm not for them. My goal was not to piss people off, it was to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom." In response to his performance, the Parents Television Council, a conservative decency campaigning group, urged viewers to complain to the FCC. The performance, at the end of the show, was broadcast "outside the FCC's usual 6am-10pm time frame prohibiting the broadcast of indecent material". ABC received about 1,500 telephoned complaints and announced he would not perform on Good Morning America on November 25 as planned. CBS subsequently invited Adam to perform instead on The Early Show, on the same date in New York City.
